Chelsea Allen is an Advanced Practice doctoral candidate who earned an MSW and BSW at University of South Carolina at Columbia. Chelsea’s area of interest includes understanding the effects of cultural and historical trauma on African American communities. Previous to her time at Columbia School of Social Work, Chelsea worked in the mental health and child welfare settings, as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Chelsea is passionate about addressing issues related race, discrimination, and oppression. She joined the Cogburn Research Group in Fall 2019.
